Coordinate the work
A Project and Assignment Tracker for ownership, expectations, deadlines, obstacles, support, and follow-up.
Build your foundation for leading people through a six-week online experience with live learning, practical tools, and individual coaching.
You can be excellent at your work and still need preparation for leading people. This six-week online experience creates space to learn, practice, reflect, and apply the responsibilities that come with supervision.
Session dates and times, weekly session length, and enrollment details will be announced when finalized.
Practice leading across difficult relationships, setting fair expectations, and supporting everyone’s performance. Examine the supervision you experienced—and decide what you want your own team to experience differently.
Each week connects leadership concepts with realistic situations, conversation practice, and application to your current or future leadership responsibilities.
Move from peer or individual contributor to responsibility for the whole team. Navigate leading former peers, someone who wanted your position, or a person with whom you have a strained history.
What you’ll practice: Recognize personal assumptions, reset professional boundaries, and plan a fair transition conversation.
Working tool: Leadership Transition Map
Define the result, quality standard, responsibility, deadline, and support an assignment requires. Delegate thoughtfully and establish useful check-ins.
What you’ll practice: Translate a vague assignment into clear expectations and a practical follow-up plan.
Working tool: Project and Assignment Tracker
Practice the leadership standard you want your team to experience, even when others do not respond in kind. Invite ideas from the people doing the work, receive team feedback, and close the loop on suggestions—even when the answer is no or not yet. Trust cannot be guaranteed; your conduct remains your responsibility.
What you’ll practice: Practice the courage and humility to ask your team how they experience your leadership. Receive honest feedback without demanding agreement, respond constructively, and follow up on what you will change.
Working tool: One-to-One Conversation Guide
Address observable behavior, clarify what needs to change, explore obstacles, and agree on next steps. Recognize progress as well as concerns.
What you’ll practice: Prepare specific feedback and document the conversation, support, commitments, and follow-up factually.
Working tool: Supervisory Documentation Spreadsheet
Draw on employees’ firsthand knowledge. Examine facts, assumptions, constraints, and options—including improvements that do not require a larger budget. Protect quality, performance, productivity, and safety.
What you’ll practice: Evaluate an improvement idea and identify when to act, consult, or escalate.
Working tool: Supervisory Decision Guide
Bring communication, expectations, judgment, and accountability together. Examine the leadership behaviors you want to continue, change, or stop—and how your team will experience the difference.
What you’ll practice: Build a 30-day leadership action plan with specific commitments, follow-up dates, and ways to seek team feedback.
Working tool: 30-Day Leadership Action Plan
Define the values, conduct, and legacy you want your leadership to reflect. Practice maintaining composure and treating people fairly when interactions are difficult or respect is not returned.
Examine how your own previous behavior may affect the way people experience you now. A title does not erase history. Acknowledge where you need to do better, follow through, and hold to your standard without requiring trust or approval in return.
